As the Assistant Special Agent in Charge, Office of Inspector General, Office of Investigations, Middle East and Asia Division(MEA), you will direct and support activities designed to prevent and detect fraud, waste and abuse within USAID programs. You will supervise the investigative division’s team in Washington, DC and one or more overseas posts.

  • Execute SAC and senior management’s priorities and expectations within area of responsibility (AOR)
  • Develop and foster a positive, professional, and people- focused work culture focused on results
  • Design and implement new and innovative approaches to processes, procedures, policies and investigative methods and techniques
  • Train and mentor agents, investigators and analysts
  • Lead team members in identifying growth areas and design individual professional developmental plans for success
  • Develop and maintain liaison and coordination efforts with domestic federal and foreign investigative counterpart agencies
  • Assist in the formulation of investigative focus areas for assigned AOR
  • First line supervisor responsible for investigative efforts and administrative processing of investigators, analysts, program specialists
  • Write formal evaluations for special agents, local investigators and support personnel
  • Evaluate allegations of fraud, corruption, and administrative violations for investigative merit
  • Manage work assignments of subordinate teams
  • Review, edit and assess investigative reports prepared by the team for accuracy, thoroughness and clarity
  • Assist prosecuting attorneys to prepare and present materials necessary for indictments, trials, sentencing and appeal proceedings before U.S. and foreign courts
  • Represent the OIG in a variety of high-level meetings with Agency and congressional staff
