Ms. Ferguson-Ward is the Assistant Inspector General for Management, providing leadership and overall direction for OIG’s Office of Management. She directs the development, coordination, and execution of all OIG management and administrative operations. Her responsibilities include directing the Office of Management’s strategic planning process, financial management activities, human resources management and diversity, equity and inclusion programs, learning and development programs, administrative support services, contracting and procurement activities, and information management programs. She also provides leadership and direction for OIG’s overseas management officers and Foreign Service National staff. In addition, Ms. Ferguson-Ward and members of her staff represent the OIG at external briefings on budget, financial, managerial, and other resource matters.
Ms. Ferguson-Ward has more than 28 years of federal service. Prior to joining USAID OIG she worked as the Assistant Inspector General for Management and Administration at the U.S. Department of Energy OIG. She held various leadership positions in her career, including serving as Director of Resource Management Programs and Director of Diversity and Inclusion at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Director of Administration at the Department of Homeland Security, Chief Administrative Officer at the National Institutes of Health, and Laboratory Manager at the National Cancer Institute.
Ms. Ferguson-Ward served as a White House Fellow and is a graduate of the White House Leadership Development Program (2018). She graduated from the American University Senior Executive Leadership Program in 2015, and completed Harvard’s Senior Executive Fellows Program in 2014. She is an alumnus of the Federal Executive Institute class of 2012. Ms. Ferguson-Ward holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland University College.
