Privacy Statement
This section of the page explains how the USAID/OIG will handle information we learn about you from your visit to our website. The information we receive depends upon what you do when visiting our site.
As authorized under Inspector General Act of 1978, 5 USC App. 3, while you are on the USAID Office of Inspector General (OIG) website, OIG will not obtain any PII, unless it is voluntarily submitted. However, the OIG will collect the following information from visitors to OIG’s site:

OIG must establish and maintain this information to manage our site and to monitor unauthorized activity (See OIG’s Security Notice).
This website contains audits and reports available in an easily-accessible format with searchable content that is downloadable and printable by individuals of the public accessing OIG’s website. If you send OIG any personally identifiable information (PII), for instance through a comment on any of these reports or audits, OIG may use your PII to respond to your comment.
We want to be very clear: We will not obtain personally-identifying information about you when you visit our site, unless you choose to provide such information to us. No system of records is created for purposes of visitors to OIG’s website.
Hotline Complaint Form
As authorized under Inspector General Act of 1978, 5 USC App. 3, USAID Office of Inspector General (OIG) may receive and investigate complaints or information concerning the possible existence of waste, fraud, abuse, or other misconduct in USAID programming. This online form allows individuals to report such allegations, and also allows recipients of USAID funding to report allegations of misconduct pursuant to their mandatory disclosure obligations.
Individuals that choose to submit information to OIG through this online form are not required to submit their personally identifiable information (PII). If individual complainants choose to include PII in a complaint, OIG will not disclose the identity of the individual making a report in his/her individual capacity, without the consent of the individual, unless the Inspector General determines that such a disclosure is unavoidable during the course of the investigation.
OIG’s routine uses for the system which stores Hotline complaints and all case information apply as described at https://www.usaid.gov/privacy-policy/systems-records-notices-sorns/usaid-09-criminal-law-enforcement-records.
Disclosure: Voluntary for individuals; mandatory if a USAID-funded entity is disclosing allegations of misconduct pursuant to its mandatory disclosure obligations under the terms of a Federal award.
