Under the Government Charge Card Abuse Prevention Act of 2012 (the Charge Card Act), Public Law 112-194, OIG is required to conduct periodic risk assessments of IAF’s charge card programs. We assessed the level of risk of illegal, improper, or erroneous purchases and payments in those programs as low because (1) the required internal controls were in place, (2) the fiscal year 2016 charge card management plan complied with Office of Management and Budget guidance, and (3) no open recommendations related to the charge card programs. Further, because IAF’s travel card spending in fiscal year 2016 did not exceed the act’s $10 million threshold, we did not recommend an audit or review.
