Duties:

As a Human Resources Assistant (OA), you will:

  • Provide clerical and technical support in the areas of recruitment and placement, security processing, personnel actions processing, and employee relations/benefits.
  • Serve as the liaison on payroll related matters.
  • Assist Human Resources Specialists with the development and posting of job announcements, and evaluating qualifications of candidates.
  • Initiate and process pre-employment background investigations and drug testing.
  • Perform reviews of security information and documents submitted and keeping track of those in progress.
  • Maintain and manage a variety of personnel files such as the Electronic Official Personnel File (eOPF) system.
  • Support special hiring and incentive programs.
  • Compose a variety of written documents and reports utilizing various types of office automation software.
  • Provide assistance and guidance with new employee on-boarding and in-processing requirements.
  • Manage central OIG Recruitment hotline and mailbox inquiries.
  • Track performance documents and establish/maintain annual employee performance files.
