We contracted with the independent certified public accounting firm of Brown & Company CPAs and Management Consultants, PLLC, to conduct an audit of USAID’s compliance in fiscal year 2019 with the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act of 2014 (DATA Act). The audit firm concluded that (1) USAID complied with the requirements of the DATA Act and (2) the data reported for the first quarter of fiscal year 2019 for publication on USASpending.gov were complete, timely, accurate, and of good quality. We made two recommendations to help strengthen USAID’s internal controls over its DATA Act reporting.
