MCC Complied With the GONE Act and Has a Low Risk of Delayed Grant Closeout

The 2016 Grants Oversight and New Efficiency (GONE) Act aims to facilitate the closeout of expired grants to improve government efficiency. We contracted with the independent certified public accounting firm of RMA Associates, LLC to conduct an audit of MCC’s grant closeout process and compliance with the act’s reporting requirements. The audit firm concluded that the overall risk of delayed grant closeout is low and that MCC complied with the reporting requirements of the GONE Act in fiscal years 2017 and 2018. We did not make any recommendations.
