INVESTIGATIVE SUMMARY: USAID OIG’s Active and Ongoing Investigations Involving Misuse of American Taxpayer Dollars

USAID OIG’s investigative work to protect hard-earned American taxpayer dollars remains active and ongoing. As of December 2025, we have over 300 ongoing investigative matters. Of our active investigations, 41 have been accepted for criminal prosecution by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and 16 have been accepted by DOJ as civil fraud matters.
